This short course is all about Probate – the thing you need to do after someone dies.
A Grant of Probate is “Probate is the legal right to deal with someone’s property, money and possessions (their ‘estate’) when they die” according to the Government website.
The process of probate is designed to deal with several things.
- Make sure the person dealing with the deceased’s affairs is the right person
- To make sure the Last Will and Testament is valid
- To make sure the correct amount of tax is paid
